Information for Players New to Boise River VBC

We have three team levels offering different season lengths, different travel expectations, and different costs.  All of our teams compete in the Intermountain Volleyball Association (IVA), under the auspices of USA Volleyball.

National Teams: The top team in each age group (18,17,16,15,14,13,12) will have a National Team.  Players at this level want to compete at the highest level, and may have goals of playing collegiately, professionally, or with our National Team someday.

The National Season teams start in December and finish the middle of May (5 months). They will have two practices per week throughout the season. This team travels to 5 power tournaments in Salt Lake City, UT as well as 1 to 4 tournaments in various cities throughout the West.

Cost:  Estimated costs range from $1,500 – $3,500.  Price differences reflect amount of travel tournaments attended.

IVA Power Schedule

Regional Teams: Teams will be formed in most age groups depending on the number of players available.  Players on these teams want to play at a high level, but may not be able to make the commitment that is needed to play on a National Team.

The Regional Season teams start in December and finish in May (or immediately after the conclusion of the local season). They will have two practices per week throughout the season. The team can also choose to participate in a grassroots league, which plays either on a weeknight, or Saturdays (depending on league chosen by coach).  These teams will play locally.

Cost:  Estimated costs range from $600 – $900.

Teams will compete in local tournaments… Schedule TBA

Short Season Teams: The Short Season teams begin practicing at the end of February and finish their season in the middle of May (2 and 1/2 months). They will have two practices per week and can add the league play one night a week if the team chooses. Short Season teams travel to Salt Lake City to play in regional tournaments about every three weeks once the season starts.

About our costs: All costs are approximate and are based on averages from previous seasons. Costs are based on 10 players per team and will vary with less or more players. Costs include uniform, coaching fees, USAV fees, tournament entries, hotel, travel costs, and administration. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN COSTS! We are a Non-Profit organization; any money not spent will be refunded to players at the conclusion of the season.

Our Facility: All Boise River volleyball teams practice at Homecourt YMCA. We are very proud and excited to have our own 6 court facility to train and host tournaments. The facility has provided reliability and sense of community amongst teams of all ages. We would like to thank our host sponsors and the YMCA for making this goal a reality.
